Grow as Disciples to Make Disciples

Community Light School of Discipleship (CLSD) is an online Bible study designed to help each of us to grow as disciples to make disciples. These free series equip participants with the resources to go and make disciples wherever God has planted them. You can attend online via livestream or in person at Cross View Lutheran Church in Edina, MN.

The 2024-2025 season of Community Light School of Discipleship ran from September 11 through February 12. Sessions are on Wednesdays from 6:30 – 7:25 PM (US Central Time). Details about the next season will be available this summer.


Onsite – Attend Community Light School of Discipleship on Wednesday nights at Cross View for the lecture, question and answer session, and small group discussion. 


Online – Lectures and Q & A with the presenter are livestreamed here on Wednesday nights.

Jonah: The Survivor Series
September 11 – November 13 (No class on October 16)

Through the ages, Jonah has been a star of the first magnitude. The book’s influence can be seen in diverse literature from Pinocchio to Moby Dick. The book of Jonah continues to delight and challenge the simple soul as much as the sophisticated scholar. People are ­often shocked at how relevant the book is for their lives. You’re invited to find out why.
Presenter — Dr. Reed Lessing, Professor of Theology and Ministry, Concordia University, St. Paul, MN. Pastor Reed is also Cross View's Associate Pastor.


Threads: Celebrating the Biblical Tapestry 
December 4 – February 12 (No classes on December 25 & January 1)

This class will track nine theological concepts threading through the Bible, with a focus on both the unity of Scripture and our mission at this time and in this culture. The nine Biblical threads include creation, sin, justice, grace, redemption, sacrifice, faith, sending, and kingdom.
